History of Lot 8 House:
2007- House was built by Patsy and O'Neil Freeman
2016- Current Owners obtained the house and are seeing apparitions.

Sightings:  "seeing apparitions of old man and young girl in Victorian type clothing"
Note:  Victorian era was from 1837 to 1901.

1836- Mah Wah Ta.  USA had the land granted to "Mah Wah Tak."  This was the wife of John Goforth.  Both were full bloodied Chickasaws and sold their land to Henry Jackson.  Henry Love (who knew the Chickasaw language) wrote her name as Mah Wah Ta Goforth.  Her name was spelled in a variety of ways in one document alone:

Mah Wah Ta,
Mo Wah Ta,
Moh Wah Ta, and
Mo Wa Ta

Book titled "Who Was Who Among the Southern Indians:  A Genealogical Notebook, 1698-1907" had her name as:
Mowah

Her descendants had her name as (Link):

Her children were Solomon Goforth and William H. Goforth.  After selling their land to Henry Jackson, Mah Wah Ta and her children went out west.  John Goforth might have been the same "John S. Goforth that served in the 2nd Alabama Volunteers in the Creek war. " (Link)

1836- Henry Jackson and his wife E. Jackson  <--possibly Henry Jackson was born in 1831.

1849- Reuben Slaughter   <-- Possibly born in 1806 and married Mary Jane Ferguson (1816-) on December 19th 1833 in Virginia.  They moved from Marshall County, Mississippi to Giles County, Tennessee by 1860.  Reuben Slaughter was a planter in Mississippi but was a Constable in Tennessee. (link) Their children were:

Garrett's father *William J. Cannon died before Garrett bought this property but his mother Lydia Narcissus Ward and siblings might have visited.  
Lydia and William married in 1855.  The children of William J. Cannon (1833-1878) and Lydia Narcissus Ward Cannon (1835-1918):  * = marks children that died before the purchase of this property

The following are the children of Garrett C. Cannon that should have lived here or visited the property.  Note:  He lived here with his second wife Hattie Anderson:
     1.  Elizabeth Cannon Chapman (1889-1928) (Mother was Oda D. Bryan Cannon who died in 1899)
     2.  Loyd Peel Cannon (1894-1977)  (Mother was Oda D. Bryan Cannon who died in 1899)
     3.  Maggie Cannon Ford (1897-1979) (Mother was Oda D. Bryan Cannon who died in 1899)
     4.  Annie D. Cannon (1903-1997) (Grave is next to Cecil so assume they ar siblings.)
     4.  Cecil C. Cannon  (1906-1968) (Mother was Hattie Anderson Cannon)
     5.  Howard Cannon (?-?).  Unknown if Howard really existed. If he did, he was mentally challenged and lived with Loyd Peel who owned this property in 1938.

1938- Loyd Peel Cannon (1894-1977) & Esther Elizabeth Cooper Cannon (1904-2001).  No children but possibly took care of Howard Cannon (if he existed).

Loyd Peel Cannon.  He served in World War I and opened up a country store with gas pump in Holly Springs, MS.  Peel had a great sense of humor.  He did woodworking and played the harmonica and juice harp.  
Esther Elizabeth Cooper Cannon was of Christian faith.  She was good, kind, brilliant, lovable, prolific writer for The Pigeon Roost News, and was in charge of the Cannon Store.

Married in the 1930's or 1940's.
Esther's mother and father died before Esther married and lived on this property.  Esther's mother was *Hester Elizabeth "Hettie" Kelsey Cooper (1869-1936) and father was *John Robert Beauregard Cooper (1861-1921):

Esther had two older half siblings that probably never saw this property:
*Frederick Lord Cooper (1893-1933) (mother was Henrietta "Nettie" Lord Cooper)
